ACTT Workshops

28th - 2nd March 2025 

Lincoln Arts Center

Tickets are available from December onwards we will be doing Single sword at Standard and 18th Century Small Sword at all other levels. A two-and-a-half-day intensive course designed for people with no or little experience all the way up to those with industry recognised qualifications in stage combat. Just to clarify on times the course starts at 6pm till 9pm on the Friday and then picks up on the Saturday and exam Sunday. 

Courses on offer: Standard, Intermediate, Advanced and Specialist**

Standard Single Sword and 18th century smallsword is an option for advanced or specialist level who already have a qualification.

The stage combat courses being held at LAC will cover preparation, technical skills and their use on stage and screen. This course is designed for people with no experience in Stage Combat up to experienced qualification holding levels. This workshop will give experience in the initial understanding of what stage combat is and how it is used on stage. We will be covering Health and Safety, footwork, weapon techniques and it examined on the last day by an examiner who is a working professional.

Theatre Deli

ACTT will be running a weekly workshop at Theatre Deli London from the 30th April-28th May every Wednesday afternoon from 1-4pm. This season we will be covering Standard Knife (for beginners) and for Intermediate. For Advanced we will be doing Nunchucks. All leading to an exam on the last day of the course. We will be covering all levels from beginners to experienced. 

Non-members £200. 

Sword and Scoundrel, Theatre Deli and Equity members £190.  

ACTT-members £180. 

Special discount for bookings of five or more people and those have attended the previous Wednesday courses.

Summer course 2025

sword and Scoundrel 4th-9th August

The Summer Course is a five-day residential course, focusing on a variety of weapon styles. The specific weapons are the following.

Standard: Rapier & Dagger, Single Sword, Unarmed

Intermediate; Staff, Knife, Unarmed

Advanced; Spear & Shield vs Gladius & Shield, Spear Vs Gladius, Pool Fight unarmed

Single weapon + Workshop; Baton Syllabus (advanced), Theatrical Firearms, Military Skills

This course has limited spaces per Course type due to accommodation and quality. You may enrol on any level, provided you have attained 3 Merits at the previous level with exception of beginners.

18th - 22nd August 

This is a week course 9-5pm at Theatre Deli in London. We will be running all levels, weapons listed below along with prices. Please note this course will have very limited numbers.

Standard;  Baton,Single Sword, Unarmed

Intermediate; Double Escrima, Knife*, Unarmed

Advanced; Double Escrima, Knife*Unarmed 

Specialist**: knife* or unarmed

*knife & Rope is an option if knife is already taken. At Advanced and Specialist Karambit is an option.

** ACTT requires a short essay on this level as part of taking this level of examination. Please enquire for details.
